Blog Entry: I hate supermarkets! I avoid as far as possible , but sometimes one has to have a serious re-stock . So I went down and spent $85 on what was next to nothing. I hadn't had anything all day so for speed I took one of those Pizzas, $5 in your money. It comes in a cardboard box (for some reason that escapes me), decorated with a coloured picture of this lavish item on the front. It's encrusted with molten cheese, slices of pepperoni, red onion, red peppers, and tomato. Totally sumptuous. Alas! Once home I open the box. The box is about 3 inches wider than the content which is about 12 inches across. The cheese, about $0.60 worth is dumped more to the middle than the edges. Rather than the 20 odd slices of pepperoni I see about 6. One slice of thinly sliced onion, half a tomato, a few shreds of peppers. Dreams and reality! I think I will go back to making my own. I can do it for peanuts, and hardly any effort. I just have to bung the flour and stuff in the bread maker to make the base. Hardly a hardship slicing some real salami, tomatoes, mushrooms, and all the other stuff. Oh another thing. When I do them I have to put foil underneath because the cheese runs off everywhere. Now that's a pizza, and at least it explains the reason for the box.
